Welcome To Spring: A Wedding Styled Shoot in Virginia

It is said that Spring is a time of new beginnings, transformations, and love.  In this wedding styled shoot, the abundance of pastel florals by JR Flowers and other garden-inspired details added to the beauty of spring theme. Although the shoot was indoors, the beautiful ceremony arch and the floor-to-ceiling glass windows of the venue gave guests an enticing waterfront view to the outside.

With moments captured by Darling Photographers, here is what Shirley Goodwin of JR Flowers had to say about the vision for this shoot:

“The ceremony arch was the showstopping element. The tablescape was glamorous with high end place settings and décor. The tall centerpiece was another breathtaking element and another nod towards the beauty of spring. The wedding gown was glamorous with crystal beading along the bodice and a full skirt. Our model was a beauty with soft makeup that complemented her perfectly.”

Shoot location: The River View at  Occoquan in Lorton, VA

Shoot theme/motif/inspiration: Spring glamour and abundant flowers

Color combinations: Gold, peach, pink and toffee

Favorite detail: The ceremony arch

Decor Details

Linens:

The linen was a heavy weight fabric in a soft champagne hue with gold veining. The napkins added a pop of peach to the round table. The cake table linen was more bold, with burgundy, apricot, pink and gold.

Centerpiece:

The container was a matte gold 2 level piece bursting with flowers including peonies, roses and ranunculus along with greenery in multiple shades. The flowers and greenery on the upper level gracefully draped from the design and gently cascaded towards the lower level where there was a mini garden of blooms covering the lower element.

Place Settings:

The place settings included a clear charger with a gold rim and an elegant white dinner plate. The flatware was gold and modern. The water and wine glasses were cut crystal and added another upscale element to the table. Each place setting had a clear acrylic menu card with whimsical script describing the meal and a mauve pink background. Taper candles in clear holders along with gold and crystal votives in varying heights added another layer of sophistication to the table.

Stationery:

Modern clear acrylic menu cards, clear drink stirrers and an acrylic welcome sign with a mauve pink overlay
