Virginia Chrysler Museum of Art Engagement Session

Branisha and Bernard met online on the most unlikely app to produce a healthy relationship… Tinder. Branisha had been warned to be careful on the app in case she was looking for an actual relationship. And after a few very interesting experiences with incompatible interests and intentions, eventually, her husband-to-be found her. This fated pair, of course, fell in love and are ready to get married. Take a look at their dazzlingly chic engagement session at the Chrysler Museum of Art, captured by Christal Marshall of Virginia Photos and Films.

Engagement story:

He proposed at the beach where we had the second part of our first date. I knew something was coming the weekend before he proposed but he actually did surprise me, which is hard to do. It was a regular day and I was expecting him to do it on a weekend or a holiday but he did it on a regular date night. It was just us and it was so perfect. We had the opportunity to express our love and soak in the moment.

Tell us all about that ring!

My ring is perfect. I don’t know how to describe it correctly because I am not fluent in ring lingo but I absolutely love it. I have slim fingers and it sits perfectly with a slim band and what I think is a marquee or a raised setting diamond in the middle with four diamonds on each side of the band.

How did you know your partner was the one?

When I first met him, I could clearly see myself being in a relationship with him. The first time he came to my mother’s house, I knew he was the one. He came in and began to gravitate toward my stepfather’s movie and music collection and he talked about them with so much heart and enthusiasm. My stepfather had passed away not even a year before we met. At that moment I realized that my suspicions of Bernard being like my stepfather were confirmed. I just knew he was the one for me.

What makes your love special?

We both love people. Everywhere we go he’s stepping outside the box to talk to someone or to help someone. We share a serving heart, which is hard to find. God is a big part of our lives and it’s so amazing to be connected to someone who enjoys spreading the joy and love given to us.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

We can’t wait to start our life together as a married couple.

Have you started planning your wedding?

I am excited to wedding plan especially because we will be getting married before my mother moves to Cuba for work. I can not plan a wedding without my momma and I am not waiting two to five years for her to return home either! So, I pretty much have all of the large moving parts like a good venue and dress taken care of. It’s theses details that will run my life up until the big day.

Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish you a fruitful marriage and many years of wedded bliss.
