Glam New Jersey Country Club Wedding

Tiffany and Steven met in October 2006 at a party through a mutual friend. Tiffany introduced herself and Steven asked if she wanted a drink. Steven must have made it too strong because an hour later Tiffany was still holding onto the same drink. He made no remarks about the matter, but like the gentleman he was raised to be, Steven and his cousin David decided to escort Tiffany and her friend to their vehicle when it got late. Suddenly, out of nowhere a car came speeding down the street and Steven bumped into Tiffany in an attempt to get her out of harm’s way — only for that strong drink he made to splash all over her suede jacket! With all that being said, Steven didn’t ask for her number that night, but he certainly made a lasting impression. They officially became a couple in May 2010 and the rest is history. Take a look at their glamorous wedding in Blackwood, New Jersey, captured by Aida Malik Photography.

Engagement story:

It was the anniversary of when we first started dating and Bear had planned to take me to dinner to celebrate. He picked a local soul food restaurant and jazz club. I was being difficult because I wanted to eat Mexican food, not soul food. The first place we were seated, I said it was drafty and asked to be reseated. Unbeknownst to me, Steve had the restaurant employees and the folks from the local radio station working with him.

The lady from the radio station that hosts the happy hour was asking about anniversaries and Steve raised his hand. I was thinking “oh goodness, what is he about to do?” I was thinking that he would tell them that we are in love and would attempt to sing. He was corresponding with the lady from the radio station like he knew her and I was busy joking with him that he doesn’t know her. She then walked over to us and gave him the mic. He got down on one knee and proposed. It was an experience that I will never forget.

From the Bride:

I was nervous as ever the night before, but had managed to calm down a bit the morning of although I couldn’t eat a thing. I was excited and going a mile a minute. I could hardly wait to marry my Bear. The entire time I was getting ready with my bridesmaids, I kept asking about Bear and wanted to know what he was doing.

From the Groom:

It was surreal, I couldn’t believe after all the planning the big day was really here. I had my team with me and they made sure I was ready to marry the love of my life. Once I walked in the door and had my best men behind me, I knew it was about to go down! I was so nervous, but so excited at the same time.

What makes your love special?

What makes our love special is that it’s real. “She’s the Ying to my Yang,” Bear always says. We are complete opposites, so of course we go about things differently, but keeping a mutual respect for each other makes this relationship work. Loving each other for who we are and respecting our differences is what makes this love special.

Her: Knowing that he loves me unconditionally with my flaws and all is what makes this love unique.

Him: Knowing that when nobody has my back, she has mine covered. Through it all, she’s riding with me and that is what makes this special.

Your most memorable moment:

Our most memorable moment were the first look photos. We were able to see each other and take photos before the ceremony. It was just us and It was absolutely amazing. It was an intimate, emotional and exciting experience. At that point, it made everything official. The big day was here and we were about to do this.

Wedding song:

We selected two songs. The first was “Love Ballad” by LTD.  Steve, or Bear as he is known, would sing that song to me all the time so we felt it was fitting to use that as our wedding song. We used “Share My Life” by Kem for our second song. For our second song, our girls danced with us.

Favorite wedding detail:

The decor and the food were on the top of our list for items to pay close attention to. Our wedding coordinator, Abby of Pretty Posh Events bought our vision to life. There was just enough glitz and glamour. The tables and the florals were exactly what we wanted. Next on our list was the food and open bar. We wanted our guests to enjoy themselves the entire time so we put forth a lot of effort in terms of picking what would be served at the bar and what would be on the menu.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We are most looking forward in continuing to build this empire as Mr. & Mrs. Steven O. Coleman. For years we had been talking about the future and what it held for us, now we have the opportunity to live out our dreams together with our girls.

Advice for a Bride and Groom on their wedding day:

To actually enjoy your day! You spend so much time, energy and money to ensure that all goes well. Have faith in your team that everything will come together; just relax and have a good time. After all the party is for you.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! We wish you many years of wedded bliss.
