A Romantic All White Atlanta Wedding

Amber and Jairus met in 2008 when they were students attending Salem Middle School in Lithonia, Georgia.  As the two became great friends, Amber had a secret crush on Jairus.  When high school rolled around, Jairus expressed his feelings for Amber but by then she was not interested.  Their friendship continued to grow over time and one year when Jairus sent his annual Happy Birthday message to Amber, he tried his luck and asked her to give him another chance at being more than just his friend.  Three years later, he asked her to be his wife.  Share in the joy of their enchanted all-white affair captured by Tiffany Dawson of Classic Photographers

Engagement story:

I originally planned to propose to Amber during a “surprise birthday party” that she was throwing for me but, she unexpectedly ended up spending a week in the hospital. Her mom was hosting a Christmas gala the same day Amber got out of the hospital, so with the help of her mom, aunts, and my mom I decided to propose then.  That night after beginning to sing “This Christmas”, I stopped and asked Amber if she remembered the day I asked her to give me one more chance, then I proposed.

What makes your love special?

Whatever we may be going through, we always say to each other, “Forever and always”. God is also the head of our relationship.  We believe that having Him at the center is what makes our love special.

From the Bride:

I was feeling tired, anxious, and nostalgic all at the same time.  When I walked down the aisle, there was a stillness in the air when my eyes locked with Jairus’.  I was filled with a roller coaster of emotions but, I would do it all over again.

From the Groom:

During the wedding planning process and up until the night before the wedding, I was extremely happy and calm.  When the big day came, I was nervous and had butterflies.  Luckily, I had the best groomsmen who gave me good words of encouragement and helped me throughout the day to remember that I was marrying my best friend.

Your most memorable moment:

Reciting the vows that we wrote to each other was the most memorable moment.

Wedding song:

Say It First by Sam Smith.  We chose this song because throughout our relationship we feared giving in to love until one of us said ‘I love you’ first.

Favorite wedding detail:

Our wedding rings.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

Having fun, growth, and laughter!

Advice for a Bride and Groom on their wedding day:

Everything is not going to go as planned, but enjoy every moment.

Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish you many years of wedded bliss!
