Oscars 2018 Fashion Roundup: Our Favorite Wedding Worthy Looks

Sunday, March 5, 2018, marked the 90th Annual Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. With so many stars under one roof, it’s almost a no-brainer that there’d be showstopping looks. From old Hollywood glamour to bold couture numbers, our favorite celebs pushed the envelope in their respective categories, as well as the red carpet. Taking inspiration from these unforgettable trendsetters, we’ve compiled a list of wedding-worthy looks from the Oscars so you can attend the big day in style.

Danai Gurira & Daniel Kaluuya

Danai Gurira looks regal as ever in her classic off-white Gabriela Hearst gown. Gurira accessorized this simple look with Sergio Rossi shoes, but our favorite has to be her cape, which adds a layer of sophistication to this sheath silhouette.

Daniel Kaluuya took a risk with his tan and black Brunello Cucinelli suit, and it totally paid off! The white button down, Montblanc cufflinks, black bowtie and shoes were crisp additions that dressed up his untraditional color choice.

Lupita Ngyon’o & Gal Gadot

Lupita Nyong’o impressed us with her custom gold and black Atelier Versace gown. She paired this look with Alexandre Birman shoes, Niwaka jewelry and a Versace bag. We love how the gold complements her beautiful skin tone along with the accented black sash, which we think screams Black Panther vibes. #WakandaForever!

Gal Gadot dazzled onlookers with a metallic 1920s Givenchy number that evoked flapper chic slay with its endless sparkles and fringe. Her jewelry picks composed of fine pieces from Tiffany & Co. All in all, we think this ensemble is absolutely Wonder Woman approved as a chic bride or bridesmaid.

Kelly Marie Tran & Taraji P. Henson

Kelly Marie Tran looked almost fairy-esque in her pastel blue Jenny Packham gown. The adequately bedazzled neckline and tulle skirt were contrasting details that kept this look fresh instead of dated. Brian Atwood shoes and Chopard jewelry provided understated sophistication so this statement gown could reign on top.

Taraji P. Henson was smouldering in her custom Vera Wang gown. The inky black shade and flowing sheer fabric are a hypnotic combination when combined with leg split, keyhole neckline and armbands. Though we must warn that opting for a look like this may steal the show if you’re not the bride in question.

Jordan Peele & Viola Davis

Jordan Peele dressed like a winner in his chic white and black Calvin Klein suit, proving you can match opposing solids and still look good! Jordan paired Jimmy Choo shoes, Montblanc cufflinks and his iconic square glasses that we can’t help but love. No need to get out here!

Viola Davis was pretty in pink with her Michael Kors Collection gown and matching Roger Vivier bag. We are living for Viola’s natural hair styled in this youthful half-up-half-down do along with her stunning silver hoop earrings.

Zendaya Coleman & Betty Gabriel

Zendaya looked flawless in her Grecian-inspired brown Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown. The asymmetrical sleeves add a modern twist to this classic look. We admire the chic Brian Arwood shoes and Bulgari jewelry Zendaya paired with this flowy outfit.

Betty Gabriel took a whimsical interpretation with her on the red carpet with a contrasting and rich green Tony Ward Couture gown. Leaf appliques coupled with a plunging neckline gave this look a unique stamp of approval. To top it all off, Betty matched the ensemble with Loriblu shoes.

Mira Sorvino & Eiza Gonzalez

Mira Sorvino made us think she walking down the aisle in her intricate ivory Romona Keveza ball gown. Floral appliques and a luxurious train will always be in style for bridal occasions, but Mira’s scoop neckline and lack of sleeves ensure the form never looks matronly.

Eliza Gonzalez reminded everyone that spring is on its way with her bright yellow Ralph Lauren gown. The simple form-fitting gown flattered her shape with a scoop neckline and plunging back. Eliza matched her elegant attire with Brian Atwood shoes and Chopard jewelry.

Janet Mock & Common

Janet Mock took everyone’s breath away with her body-hugging Christian Siriano gown in white. The patterned fabric, mermaid silhouette and wispy cape were details that made wedding bells go off in our heads. Janet finished off the look with Forevermark jewelry and a rhinestone Judith Leiber bag.

Common played it safe with black Giorgio Armani suit and white button down, and we can’t blame him since it’s so hard to beat the classics! we couldn’t help but admire how well tailored the design fit him and complimented his lovely Tiffany and Co. jewelry.

Whoopi Goldberg & Mary J. Blige

Whoopi Goldberg showed she’s still got it with her colorful Christian Siriano ball gown. The mix of vibrant cool tones coupled with a bold print, cinched waist and off-the-shoulder capped sleeves reminded us why Whoopi is a legendary queen on and off The View.

Mary J. Blige was elegant as ever in her white and silver Atelier Versace gown. Her addition of Forever Mark jewelry and a Roger Vivier bag were other details we admired for their effortless versatility.

Lakeith Stanfield & Gina Rodriguez

Lakeith Stanfield is not afraid to show his colorful side with his tailored indigo Ermenegildo Zegna Couture suit. The black lapel creates an interesting contrast that’s noticeable without being distracting. Polished shoes and a silver pin also added a hint of shine that we appreciated.

Gina Rodriguez was a vision in her layered Zuhair Murad Couture gown and Forevermark jewelry. We love the idea of champagne dresses for modern and untraditional brides. Rodriguez’s plunging v-neckline along with her bedazzled belt and bodice are alluring details that’d take anybody’s wedding attire to the next level.

Mirai Nagasu & Camila Alves

Mirai Nagasu remained America’s ice princess in her sheer blue Tadashi Shoji gown. Her fitted long sleeves, a subtle v-neckline and snowflake embroidery all win a gold medal from us. Winter wedding take note!

Camila Alves looked like the ultimate princess bride in her white Vivienne Westwood ball gown and statement Chopard jewelry. From the off-the-shoulder cap sleeves to the romantic sweetheart neckline and tulle petticoat, this look has us ready to walk down the aisle.

Marcus Henderson & Abbie Cornish

Marcus Hendeson kept it classic with a black tuxedo and white button down. We appreciate his inclusion of subtle accessories like the brown beaded bracelet and polished black shoes.

Abbie Cornish looked dazzling in her blush Elie Saab Couture gown. Between the baroque beading, embroidery and keyhole cape, we could barely tell where this lovely gown began or ended. The plunging v-neckline was enhanced by her Bulgari jewelry.

Zoey Deutch & Fatma Al Remaihi

Zoey Deutch stood out in her pale champagne Elie Saab Couture gown. Intricate embroidery, pom-poms and a tiered skirt created an elegant bohemian look that alternative brides will love. Pairing her attire with tasteful Tiffany & Co. jewelry let Zoey’s gown do all the talking.

Fatma Al Remaihi wowed everyone with a simple and elegant black ensemble with gold embellishments. Remaihi accessorized like a queen with her matching black shoes, clutch and headwrap, and pulled the look altogether with a full-finger ring, teardrop-shaped earrings and a Time’s Up pin.

Salma Hayek & Margot Robie

Salma Hayek showed off in a custom lilac sequin Gucci gown. Everything about this look says feminity; from the empire waist and the tiered ruffle skirt to the V-shaped neckline and its dangly rhinestone accents. With so much going on, we’re glad she paired her look down with a plain silver clutch.

Margot Robbie stood at attention in her stark white Chanel Haute Couture gown and Roger Vivier shoes. We love how the elongated lines flatter her form, as well as her adorned ruffled sleeves. The chrome clutch brought this whole look together.

Andra Day & Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman was simply a king in his black Givenchy suit. The metallic embroidery along the shoulders of his long blazer provided a regal aesthetic that’d make Wakandans proud.

Andra Day stole our hearts with this floral Zac Posen number. The corset bodice and intricate drapery are elements that simply must be admired! Accessorizing with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and a Judith Leiber bag takes this flower girl (woman) to a whole other level.

BONUS: Tiffany Haddish’s showstopping 2-for-1!

Tiffany Haddish honored her late father with a traditional Eritrean garb on the red carpet. The ornate black, white and gold attire has convinced us that Tiffany deserves to star in the Black Panther sequel! Later in the night, Tiffany switched it up on us with her favorite white Alexander McQueen dress and we’re all for it. In her own words, “I don’t give a dang about no taboo! I spent a lot of money on this dress. This dress cost way more than my mortgage. This is a $4,000 dress. I’m gonna wear this dress multiple times.” Keeping it real as always!
