As we say goodbye to 2016 and prepare to welcome 2017 many people may feel pressured to shed their old ways in the effort to become bigger, smarter, stronger, better! For me, the end of the year always brings something new to look forward to. In addition to certainly being better than I was last year, my birthday is also right around the corner, in January. I look forward to the feeling of a fresh start; the optimism that comes with the start of a new year. While I believe we are meant to grow and evolve, we must celebrate the small victories along the way.
I look back at the past few years of my life – some good, some I’m happy to put behind me. Through it all, I’ve learned so much about myself and about life. I’ve come to truly appreciate the little things like watching Netflix with my sons and sharing more laughs with my closest friends. I have also come to greater appreciate ME, who I was, who I am and who I am becoming. For these reasons, I look forward to a new year but I don’t need to become a new person to appreciate it. Hopefully, you too will share my sentiments: New Year. Old Me. Just Better.
In 2017, I encourage you to fall in love with yourself. Appreciate exactly who you, are as you are. Striving to become better doesn’t have to mean disliking the person you are now. Do more of the things you love. Do what makes you look amazing and feel stunning! Take a weekend get away! Wear something that sparkles! Call up a distant friend. Rekindle that old flame! Smile more! Say hello to passersby! Wear something that sparkles! Buy the lipstick! Whatever you decide my job is to make sure you look beautiful doing it. Here are some looks to inspire you to look and be your best in 2017 no matter what your makeup style.
