In 2012 Yinka along with 1.1 billion other people utilized the most popular social networking tool to connect with friends, family, and loved ones – Facebook! But on July 5, 2011 Yinka had a different plan. After getting the green light from Seyi's older sister he sent a Facebook message that said, "Hello Seyi, hope you are doing well. I hope you don't mind me contacting you sort of out of the blue. I asked your sister Busola to inquire if it was okay to contact you on FB. I don't mean to be too forward, but is it okay if I call you sometime? Talking to you will give me a chance to formally introduce myself. Hope to hear from you soon. Take care and enjoy the rest of your week."
His approach was sincere and it caught Seyi's attention so she graciously granted Yinka's request for her phone number and they started talking later that week. Seyi and Yinka lived in separate cities at that time (Salt Lake City, UT and Minneapolis, MN) so they did not meet in person until August 6th, later that year. Meeting in person for the first time was a little nerve racking for the both of them as they both did not know what to expect. Let's just say that Yinka surpassed Seyi's expectations and their connection was in fact a genuine one. Later that week they had their "official" first date and the rest like they say is history.
