A Timeless Destination Wedding in Negril, Jamaica

Keshema and Benjamin met on the dating app, Bumble in 2015. The two felt a connection and have been together ever since! Four years later, they tied the knot in a destination wedding on the beautiful island of Jamaica. Read more of their love story and share in their joyous affair captured by SGW Photography.

Bride: Keshema Davidson, 29, Manager of Community Affairs

Groom: Benjamin Nathan, 32, Regional Head of Procurement Operations

Photography by: Sabrina Guyton-Wright, SGW Photography

Place of residence: Philadelphia, PA

Wedding date: October 31, 2020

Wedding location: Negril, Jamaica

Wedding theme/motif/inspiration: Classic and timeless wedding in Jamaica, which is where the bride was born and raised.

Honeymoon Destination: We had a beautiful trip fully planned for New Zealand then Fiji but had to cancel due to COVID. Instead, we spent additional time at the Goldeneye Resort in Oracabessa, Jamaica.

Engagement story:

Ben planned a nice brunch at White Dog Café and as we walked up to the restaurant he got down on one knee outside and had a photographer on site to capture the moment. I had no idea this was going to happen but looking back I should have known because Ben carefully ironed his shirt that morning, which is not normal behavior for him.

From the Bride:

The morning of my wedding was one of the most beautiful moments of my life. My room at the Rockhouse Hotel (where we got married) overlooked the ocean so I went to sleep to the sound of the waves and woke up the same way. I was very intentional with my bridal party about their roles in helping me to protect that space before the wedding. I woke up early that morning and my best friend and maid of honor guided me through a morning meditation by the ocean, it was very emotional for both of us. I couldn’t help but think about how special that day and moment will be and I was overwhelmed with joy but also sadness. Joy because I was so happy and confident in the path I was choosing but also sad that I was taking this step in my homeland without my father, who passed away several years ago, by my side. That was a very special moment for me and I needed to allow myself to have those feelings.

From the Groom:

I woke up the morning of the wedding overlooking the Caribbean Sea from my room. I was anxious and since I had a little time to pass, I went snorkeling with my family and friends and enjoyed the beautiful scenery on this beautiful day that I knew was going to be amazing. I was excited to start the rest of my life with my wife, Keshema and couldn’t imagine a more perfect day or environment to be in.

Your best/most memorable moment:

There were two moments: when we saw each other at the aisle and after the wedding reception when everyone all ended up in the pool for an after party until about 2 in the morning.

Wedding song, explain choice for song:

“Why I Love You” by Major.

Favorite wedding detail:

We really wanted to get married in Jamaica but did not want a beach wedding, the fact that we were able to have that was our favorite detail. We also rented a Catamaran for a day party the day before the wedding, all of our guests joined us for the cruise around Negril’s coastline, it was a special moment for us to have that experience with everyone. Although in full disclosure, a booze cruise the day of your rehearsal dinner probably was not the best idea, but we wouldn’t have had it any different!

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We are most looking forward to starting a family and also just enjoying everyday life together.

Advice for a Bride/Groom on their wedding day:

Our advice is to leave some flexibility in your plans for last minute changes and to fully enjoy the experience!

Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish them a fruitful marriage and many years of wedded bliss!
