A Stunning Micro-Wedding in New Orleans

Love can show up when you least expect it and turn out to be much more than you could have ever imagined. This could not be more true for Chimise and Segun who met while riding in an Uber together in 2019. Their undeniable connection sparked a relationship that lasted a few months before the lovely couple decided to tie the knot in an intimate ceremony in New Orleans, Louisiana. Check out photos from their walk down the aisle as they shut down the historic Jackson Square, captured by Steib Weddings.

Engagement Story:

Segun took Chimise out for dinner and bowling at The Painted Duck in Midtown Atlanta. While she was bowling her last frame, he knelt down behind her with the ring. As Chimise turned she saw Segun on one knee asking her to marry him. She screamed, “Oh my God!” in shock and followed up with, “Yes!” as fellow bowlers and diners cheered and congratulated them.

What makes your love special?

Even though we come from different cultures (Segun born Nigerian and Chimise born in the U.S) when we are together it feels like there is no difference.

From the Bride: (briefly tell us about your wedding experience and how you felt on your big day)

I was super anxious. An hour before the wedding, it started raining. As I was reassured from our photographers and my bridal party that everything was going to be okay, I remembered that the rain was a sign of good luck on your wedding day. When I arrived at the venue, the gray skies began to clear and the rain suddenly stopped. As my father walked me down the aisle, there the groom stood just as bright as the sun. It was then I realized the sole purpose of the day.

From the Groom: (briefly tell us about your wedding experience and how you felt on your big day)

That morning I woke up and just felt immense peace, no anxiety. All I kept thinking was this is the first day of the rest of our lives. It started raining an hour before our start time and I just knew she would be anxious about that, but by the time I got to Jackson Square the weather was amazing  and I knew the day was going to be beautiful. When I saw her walking down the aisle, she literally took my breath away.

Advice for a Bride/Groom on their wedding day:

Book vendors who you have a very good rapport with. Relax, it will all turn out fine! Nothing else matters on that day but the two of you. As long as you are both there to get married, the day is already special.

Please feel free to include any other interesting anecdotes from your big day!

Our wedding rings have been in the family for over 60 years.
