Real Weddings {Canada}: Jennifer & Timothy!

Jennifer and Timothy met in 2013 through a mutual friend. "My co-worker came up to me one day at work and said 'I have this friend and I think you two would be good for each other'," Jennifer recalled. "We met up for lunch one day and had a great conversation. Two years later, Timothy asked me to marry him!" Check out their elegant wedding captured by Samantha Clarke Photography!

Engagement story:

One evening, my sister asked me if she could take pictures of me wearing some of the jewellery she was creating for her jewellery line. I was on board to do so but little did I know this was a distraction to get me upstairs as Timothy was in the backyard preparing to propose. Once ready, my sister suggested we take the pictures outside in the backyard. As I pulled back the curtain to step outside I see Timothy with a photographer and a friend on the acoustic guitar. I froze in shock and Timothy had to come and get me to step fully outside. As he led me to the stairs, the music from the acoustic guitar started and Timothy sang “Stay With You” by John Legend. I started crying. It was the sweetest thing hearing the man I love sing to me. After he was finished singing, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said YES!

From the Bride:

On the wedding day, I woke up excited to finally marry my love. It was a morning wedding, so we were up super early to get ourselves ready. I did my best not to let last minute stress get to me as I wanted to enjoy this day. It brought great joy to see all the people we love there to celebrate our union and to see my husband waiting for me at the end of the aisle.

From the Groom:

My wedding experience was an unforgettable one. The day was perfectly imperfect. From one perspective, small details like timing, didn’t work out but on the other hand it was perfect beyond adequate description. Seeing my wife in her dress for the first time, the speeches and our after event made it totally unforgettable.

What makes your love special?

Our love is special because we have such a deep level of respect and support for each other. We support each other’s dreams and make any sacrifices to ensure those goals are achieved.

Most memorable moment:

One memory that comes to mind was our hike through the mountains of Banff and Lake Louise in Alberta. It was absolutely breathtaking and it was definitely something beyond our norm. We also had a bear cross the road 10 feet in front of us.

Wedding song:

Our wedding song was “Love is here to stay” by Ella Fitzgerald. We wanted an older classic song that had a jazzy feel and meaning in its lyrics.

Favorite wedding detail:

The band was one of our favorite details from the wedding. As it was an afternoon wedding, they help to set the tone for the reception. They played all our favorite songs ranging from Stevie Wonder to John Legend.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We are most looking forward to seeing each other grow in the purpose God has called us to and supporting each other through it.

Advice for a Bride/Groom on their wedding day:

Bride: Take the time to enjoy every moment of your day. It goes by really fast!

Groom: My advice to anyone on the big day is to leave the details to the people designated to handle that. Keep your mind clear and remember that the day is truly about you and her.

Congrats to the newlyweds Jennifer and Timothy! We wish you many more years of wedded bliss!
