Justin and Ajignè met in May 2010. "We have been together for six years. We met at a mutual friend’s graduation party. Engagement story:

Justin proposed on Christmas morning 2015. After 5 years, I was anticipating this being "the year." Every year he asks me repeatedly for Christmas gifts ideas. However, this was the first year he never once brought up buying me a Christmas present. Of course, I made several hints to him letting him know that I knew what he was up to. Boy was I in for a surprise. Christmas morning, I woke up to many gifts from Justin, BUT NO RING!! I thoroughly searched every present to make sure he had not hidden the ring. I finally came to the realization that I would not receive my ring and we continued throughout the day. As I was exchanging gifts and conversing with family, Justin quietly snuck up behind me. I turned around to walk away and almost tripped over him because he was down on one knee proposing! TOTAL SHOCK! He was shaking and I could literally feel his heart pounding through his chest. It was so sweet. I loved the fact that after 5 years together, he was still nervous about asking me to finally become Mrs. Cleveland. One of the most memorable moments would be the shock and reactions on my face and my family members’ faces once we realized what was happening. It was surreal. It took us all a minute to fully register what was going on. Our dog, whom had been barking the entire time, became quiet and looked stunned as well!

From the Groom: Walk us through the behind the scenes of creating this special day.

I decided months before Christmas that I was going to propose. I had a different plan at first. However, once Ajignè started dropping hints that she was privy to my plan, I knew immediately I had to come up with a new plan. I decided to buy her a bunch of random gifts to throw her off. She woke up very chipper on Christmas morning and ready to exchange gifts. I noticed her start to pout a little as she went through gift after gift. It was hard for me to keep a straight face. Once I could tell she had given up hope, I knew it was the right time to propose. I was glad that I was still able to surprise her.

What makes your love special?

Our love is special because we truly are each other’s best friend. I know that is very cliché, but it is the truth. We were friends before we became a couple and that has played a tremendous role in our relationship. It is a great feeling knowing that you have someone in your life who cares about you mentally, physically, and spiritually.

What was the theme of your shoot?

There was no particular theme for our shoot. It was just us being us, silly and laid-back. We love to fish, so being able to shoot near the lake fit us perfectly.

Were there any memorable moments during the shoot?

There were two geese that kept photo-bombing our shoot. We were trying to keep straight faces and watch the geese at the same time. Also, there is a picture of us holding signs that read “He asked. “She said about time.” Many people think that it is a joke, but it actually happened.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

We are looking forward to simply celebrating our love with our family and friends. We plan to have a big party celebrating with all of our loved ones. We are going to have a great time and look forward to spending the rest of our lives together as one!

Have you started planning your wedding?

We have started wedding planning. Our wedding will be held at Kingsway Christian Church and our reception is being held at the Crescent Club, both located in Germantown, Tennessee Our colors are navy and blush. Our theme is soft and intimate, utilizing the city’s skyline and candlelight. We have most of the big details squared away. Now we are working on the smaller details.

Congrats to Ajignè and Justin! We wish you a wonderful wedding and marriage.
