A Regal Micro Wedding Styled Shoot in Washington, D.C.

This wedding styled shoot epitomizes romance and love during a pandemic. Featured is real-life couple, Miles and Indigo, who met in Charlotte, North Carolina at  a charity gala three years ago. Indigo knew that her wedding to Miles would have to tell their story: romantic, elegant, and regal. Still facing the COVID-19 pandemic, the two decided on a micro-wedding.

Let’s talk about this bride! Her ivory laced gown with embellished details was a regal showstopper. The mermaid style boasted a sweetheart top and gently sweeping train that fit her body like a glove. To finish her look, a partially elongated bouquet of neutral tones with roses and orchids added a bit of enchantment as she walked towards her king! But not to be outdone, the debonair groom donned an ultra-black three-piece “James Bond” styled tuxedo.  A black oversized bow tie was added to complete the grand look with black lace shoes shined to perfection! An ivory orchid boutonniere lay smoothly on the lapel of his suit.

Here is what Kelisha Obua, Owner and Chief Designer of Perfectly Adorned Event Decor, had to say about the inspiration behind this shoot:

“Our hope is that future brides and groom can see that “love is not cancelled. The tables were ornamented with vintage pressed pale pink goblets and French country styled soft pink plates and cutlery. Dusty pink and ivory roses streamlined the middle of the intimate table. And the couple’s favorite luxury velvet upholstered chairs and gold lux chairs would mix match, making the perfect pair in complimenting the two. They would spare no expense for candles, lighting and the perfect LOVE letters, written especially for them.”

Shoot location: Fathom Gallery. Washington, D.C.

Shoot theme/motif/inspiration: Intimate Romance

Color combinations: Dusty Rose, Mauve, Pink, and Ivory

Favorite detail: The mauve, velvet Corrine chairs that take upscale to another level with the smallest detail of a gold-plated handle on each chair for a touch of class.

Linens :

Velvet rose banquet linen with ivory bengaline satin napkins.

Centerpiece Description:

Two towering pink hydrangea centerpieces filled with art déco mauve pink roses, faith dusty pink roses, pink majolica roses and pops of ivory and bright pink garden roses atop a sleek gold saxon vase.  The roses created a romantic garden feeling and invited our guest to stare deep into the floral layers.  The base of the table is filled with various rose floral compote bowls made completely of creamy, soft textured vendella roses and the ombre colored art déco mauve roses. To complete this look, we finished the design with gold lace applique candle pillars that illuminated the perfect low light and intimate setting.   The lace feature on these candle pillars truly complimented the bride’s gown and the table aesthetic.

Place Settings:

We decided on a three-tier scalloped “Charlotte” pink and white plate setting with a vertical napkin fold.  The added trim of gold was a nice touch to the gold accents of the table and chair design.  This was paired with gold slender flatware and blush debutante goblets with clear champagne glasses for the toast!

Stationery:

To break up the primarily pink design, we created a round menu design with a monochromatic palette.  This design added to the texture and element of different shapes throughout the wedding look. The gold foil lines of the menu design added to the upscale and classy look of the wedding design.  The menu greeted guest with an option of two signature drinks that really showed the couples personality.  The dinner feast did not disappoint with a traditional plated style of surf-n-turf.  Wedding cake wasn’t the only option for dessert, guest could choose mini desserts as a sweet way to end the night!
