Love in the City: An Engagement Session in Indianapolis

Brandi and Chris first met through mutual friends in 2017. Then, Chris decided to shoot his shot and asked Brandi out on a date in her DM’s. She agreed and ever since their first date on December 22, 2017 the couple have been by each other’s side.  Get inspired by their city chic engagement session captured by Rae Marcel Photography.

Bride: Brandi Michelle Bennett, 28, Pharmaceutical and Clinical Trial Project Manager

Groom: Christopher James Sullivan, 29, Senior Project Manager Design and Facility Management

Place of residence: Indianapolis, Indiana

Engagement Shoot Location: Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana

Wedding date: October 16, 2021

Engagement story:

About a month before the engagement, Brandi’s best friend told her that she wanted to do a family photo shoot with her husband, their son, and his godparents for their son’s upcoming first birthday (Brandi is one of the godparents). Being a project manager and control freak by nature, Brandi reached out to her best friend to confirm that she would be available for the shoot and also asked if there was a shoot theme. She was told to wear maroon since that would be the color that her godson would also be wearing.

On August 16th, Brandi’s friend picked her up for the shoot. As she walked into the courtyard of the venue, Brandi was shocked to see all of her family and friends there with Chris standing in the middle (and wearing maroon also)! She instantly knew what was taking place and began crying with joy.

For the Groom: Walk us through the behind the scenes of creating this special day

Creating this special day would not have been possible without the help of Brandi’s mother and sister. They helped select the venue and with execution of the plan. I was most excited about the reaction of her friends and family when I told them I was going to propose. To see how everything came together and how happy she was, it was an amazing feeling.

What makes your love special?

We are both individually ourselves and enjoy our own happiness first then together we are undefeated. What I love most about Chris is that I feel safe, secure, and I am confident about walking under his direction as my future husband.

What was the theme of your shoot?

We did not have a set theme but I knew I wanted it to be extravagant since that is my personality. I wanted us to look and feel like royalty, and to make a statement that proves you can have it all– God, love, power, success, family, and fun.

Were there any memorable moments during the shoot?

The entire shoot was memorable. We are still on Cloud 9 after a perfect engagement and then going straight into the wedding planning has been true bliss.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

We are looking forward to partying and enjoying our loved ones around us. We have always been entertainers and we love to have a good time so we want this to be enjoyable for our guests. We are even more excited about what’s to come after the wedding.

Have you started planning your wedding?

Yes, along with the help of our wedding planner, Danielle Lea, we have hit the ground running with planning and coordinating.

Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish them a fruitful marriage and many years of wedded bliss!
