Last week, I attended the Della Giovanna Runway Show for the premiere of their Fall/Winter 2015 Collection. The collection is bold and edgy. The gowns and dresses are fiercely extravagant and perfect for any bride looking to make a statement. Each dress was coordinated with either chains, corsets, and other essential metal hardware that would gear up the fearless modern day bride for her trip down the aisle. The key components in this collection were the gold accessories, spikes, chains, belts and other materials that introduced the sovereign goddess as the new bridal fashion trend.
I loved the way the ruffles in certain gowns were morphed to suite the abstract silhouette of the models. Each gown held its own intensity, yet the off white and ivory in each dress provided a balance between class and edge. The ball gown designs were crafted with much finesse, giving the ruffles an innovative form for the modern bride.
My favorite of all the pieces, hands down, was the handmade chainmail headpiece—very ‘Game of Thrones’ and futuristic looking. I loved how relentless this piece was; it immediately opened everyone’s mind to the captivating artistry of the collection. This collection is definitely a timeless selection before it’s time. I think each piece has its own uniqueness; I can see these trends changing the bridal fashion world.
