Engagement story:
He took me to dinner for my birthday at one of our favorite restaurants. After an awesome dinner, he gave me my gift and ordered a bottle of champagne. After a toast to our love, health, and friendship, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I was so shocked, and yet, overjoyed. It was definitely a birthday I will never forget!
From the Bride:
One would think that since it rained all day of the wedding that our day would have been dampened. It was just the opposite! Being able to marry the love of my life in front of family and friends was a memory I will never forget. My husband is not a dancer, so seeing him let loose and dance with his mom was a very special moment to see. I loved all the love we were surrounded with. It was truly an awesome day.
From the Groom:
The best part of the day for me was the first look. I got to see my beautiful wife in her dream gown in a moment I did not have to share. Looking at her reaffirmed that she was specially chosen by God just for me and I am forever thankful.
What makes your love special?
It’s simple, it’s just us. Our love story is ours to tell, because we are friends first, we are comfortable around each other. We can share our hopes, desires and fears. We can grow and experience life together, with all it has to bring both good and not so good.
Your most memorable moment:
We have so many from that day. From getting ready with our bridal party (the laughter and jokes), the dances with our parents, and our toasts — which were very heart warming.
Wedding song:
Our wedding song was “Make Me Say It Again” by the Isley Brothers. Who doesn’t love the Isley Brothers?
Favorite wedding detail:
The venue and the cake. The cake was made made by John’s family which made it extra special.
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
We are looking forward to having children and growing a family. We want to travel and explore the world as a family
Advice for other couples:
Start planning your day early. If possible hire your planner before you select your venue as they are able to negotiate some great rates for you and other amenities. Also, don’t sweat the small stuff, the day will be as great as you make it. If it rains, dance in the rain. You only get one chance to make it a great moment. Enjoy the day!
