A Timeless Childhood Love Engagement Session In Miami

Nathalie and Yves met in school during eighth grade. The year was 1992. They had been off-and-on in a relationship for about 20 years. Yves used to wait in front of Nathalie’s classes when the bell would ring for the next period, and just chase her in the hallway while asking her to be his girlfriend. Nathalie was not interested because her parents were very strict and did not want her to date while in high school. She finally gave him a chance in the ninth grade. They would meet up at her uncle’s house to talk. Nathalie was so nervous about getting caught, but their love prevailed. With a romance that spans over two decades, this happy couple is finally ready to make the lifetime commitment we all know as marriage. Check out their prenuptial engagement session at The Spanish Monastery in Miami, captured by Cortiella Photography.

Engagement story:

I called Nathalie the night my father was buried to vent about his passing. It was a very emotional moment for me because he was my best friend. My father always told me to never let Nathalie go and that she was the woman for me. The following week, I invited Nathalie to go with me and visit my dad’s grave site. We brought flowers for my father and sat at his grave site reminiscing about great moments.

I held Nathalie’s hand, pulled her closer to my heart and just held her tight. I then looked her in the eyes and wiped the tears off her face, and finally popped the question. I felt so fulfilled with joy again when she said yes and knowing that my father’s spirit, and blessings was among the both of us.

For the Groom: Walk us through the behind the scenes of creating this special day:

Nathalie and I remained friends when we broke up after college. Nathalie worked in the area where my father had his business. She would make suew that he was doing fine and check on him and me often. My father loved Nathalie very much, he also brought her first car during high school. I would check on her sisters and mother as well.

My father became very ill and passed away in March 2018. Nathalie heard the news from my sister and supported us through such a devastating moment.
