Journey To The Aisle: A Wedding “Planner Bride” Series by Ashley Miller:Scene 6

I’m so glad you decided to join me for Scene 6 of my “Journey to the Aisle” series. Do you trust your professional wedding vendors? Trust them to perform the tasks you’ve paid them to complete. Ask yourself why you decided to give them your hard earned money in the beginning and hold on to that reason when you start to doubt the process.

It definitely takes a village to plan a wedding. Building your wedding dream team is not an easy task. You are looking for so many things in a wedding vendor, right? Top quality, someone you connect with, a great experience, and someone you can trust with the most joyous celebration of your life. If you think you have achieved this with the vendors you selected thus far, trust them. Wedding professionals main goal is for their clients to have the best day because they provided their best services/products.

Each wedding vendor is valuable to your team for their designated specialty; they are there to guide, support, and encourage you along the way. Of course, you will select your vendors based on experience and knowledge but you have to trust them. You are allowing them to be a part of your special day, which is an honor. You should feel in your heart each vendor is able and willing to make your day special. You’ve shared your vision, you’ve paid them to get the job done, now let them get the job done. If you don’t feel you can trust them, don't hire them. Save yourself the stress during the planning process of worrying tirelessly if the vendor is doing their job. On the other hand, your vendor doesn't want the stress of being micromanaged or feeling distrusted along the way either. Allow the professionals a chance to wow and woo you. You hired them for their expertise.

I'm abundantly blessed to have a dream team of amazing vendors who I trust and know will spoil me on my big day (and along my planning journey). Heck, some of my vendors have already indulged in pampering sessions with me and my Hunny.

I would like to give THANKS to some of my wedding dream village (thus far):

Carrie Belle Events, Glorious Events, Nuages Designs, Exquisite Sounds, B Loft, Natt Taylor, Unique Event Elements, Snazzy Events, Hyatt at Villa Christina, Brio Perimeter, Focal Blu, Lucky & Lovely, SmallCakes North Druid, Event Rentals Unlimited, House of Hope Atlanta, Captivating Calligraphy by L.A., The Wedding Stylist, my family, and friends.

Michelle White-McDowell of Michelle Davina Photography, I’m forever (and a day) indebted to you for photographing my journey to the aisle. From our engagement session, vendor meetings, bridal shower, dress fittings, and other cherished moments; you have been there. The still moments of joy will forever be cherished. Thank you.

See you in two weeks; same time, same day.

Planner Tip: Avoid Friendors (Friends as Vendors) So many brides REGRET this! A wedding is a once in a lifetime occasion, no do-overs. You're comfortable with a friend who makes awesome cakes for birthdays (serving 12 ppl) make your tiered wedding cake (serving 150 ppl)? Wedding have unique logistical and preparational needs. Leave it to the pros! Allow your friends to enjoy your day instead working your day!
