With taste so strongly attached to memories, its no wonder many couples are turning to foodie destinations when it comes to planning the highly anticipated excursion. The crust of any great honeymoon is genuinely in the meals you share, wether its a bed-side whip cream sundae or a five course meal in the Caribbean. To add a little sauce to your steak, we’ve created a menu of destinations that you and your honey can head to if you’re looking to please the palette.

Mediterranean Bliss in New York City

New York City may not be the tropical paradise newlyweds associate with honeymoons, but for foodie couples looking for authentic culinary experiences, NYC is hard to beat. For a bit of Mediterranean Bliss, honeymooners can head to the new Hotel Hayden in NYC’s Flower District. Opening this spring, Hayden’s Rooftop will offer a unique, year-round rooftop experience with impeccable views of the Freedom Tower. The Mediterranean-inspired foodie paradise will feature a menu of small plates from the kitchen of Mykonos Blue, the traditional Greek restaurant tucked inside Hotel Hayden, plus a forthcoming late night menu of Greek street food, and a curated drink menu featuring cocktails made with Greek spirits like Ouzo and Mastika.

Coconut and Vanilla Tahitian Treat

Tahiti, known by honeymooners for its stunning islands, beaches, and tranquil waters,  is also highly regarded for its fascinating cuisine. You and bae, can try their abundance of Coconut + Vanilla flavors usually savored into delicate sauces and dishes derived from native ingredients in stews, curries, and poisson cru.

Flavors of the Amazon in Peru

In Peru, couples can enjoy chef-hosted departures on Aqua Expeditions. Hosting two four-night departures in October and November 2017, consulting chef on the Aria Amazon Pedro Miguel Schiaffino – chef and owner of Malabar and AmAz – two of Lima’s most cutting-edge restaurants – invites honeymooners to explore the flavors of the Amazon with him. St. Lucia’s rum distillery is located 5 minutes up the road, so private tours for couples are also available.

Saltfish and Funji in St. Croix

Not a foodie yet? You’ll be calling yourself one at the end of the Virgin Islands Food Tour. This food excursion takes visitors through St. Croix’s rich history, viewing historic sites and art while sampling local dishes made by top chefs, such as saltfish and funji (a cornmeal polenta-like dish) and red grout (a tapioca and guava-based dessert inspired by the Danish). By the end of the three-hour tour, visitors are transformed into local food experts.

Part of Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo’s bespoke “Just For You” program, the exclusive “Pick Up Your Stick” experience is a one-on-one guided tour of the Monaco fish market led by YOSHI head chef Takeo Yamazaki. Couples will learn how to make sushi, in the kitchen of the Michelin-starred, Joël Robuchon restaurant during a private cooking class, followed by an intimate tasting lunch of Japanese cuisine paired with exceptional wines and champagnes.
