Black Up Cosmetics Makeover & Review – Blackbride.com

I must admit, I’m such a creature of habit and when it comes to my makeup, if it ain’t broke….So this makes my work a Beauty Contributor all the more interesting as I actively look for new products to try and hopefully love. This time around, I had the opportunity to do a makeover on the beautiful Yoko Jak using a few products from Black Up Cosmetics.

Continuing my trend of honesty and objectivity I’ll share with you some of the pros and cons I’ve found while using the products. First, we all must love the fact that Black Up is for women of color! Let’s face it, it’s 2016 and we wear makeup too. It’s always wonderful to know you can shop a full line of cosmetics and skincare specifically formulated and designed for women who look like you. Thank you Black Up | Paris!!!

CONTOURING STICK NO. 02

I was excited to try the oil free Contouring Stick. It provides more “bang for your buck” with its double ended design allowing you to highlight and contour your skin. The color payoff on this contouring stick was pretty decent and was a good match for her skin. However, the finish left Yoko looking very shiny and didn't provide the powder finish as we were hoping. An amazing product that matches our brown skin perfectly, we suggest you take your skin type into consideration as persons with oily skin may see shinny results.

5 COLOR EYESHADOWS PALETTE

The 5 Color Eyeshadows palette (Pal03) is very beautiful and the pigments are great with high payoff. A little goes a long way with this set and I’m personally a fan of palettes because they allow for so much versatility and tend to be more economical than purchasing individual shades.

LIPSTICK

I loved both lipsticks and Yoko is featured with Lipstick 09. It’s a gorgeous golden bronze shade, slightly frosted and looks amazing on dark skin tones. Black Up’s lipsticks glide on smoothly including their matte shades which is always a plus. I love the chic and stylish black packages but my favorite is the locking mechanism with the lipstick which ensures it’s not going to make a mess in your makeup bag.

ADD THIS TO YOUR COLLECTION

I’m very pleased with Black Up | Paris! It’s a beautiful brand for women of color and a must try. I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for more trendy and innovative products to add to my collection. In the meantime, be sure to shop these amazing products at www.blackup.com.
