The Proposal: 
When Kendrick popped the question, the first question that every one asked was "how did he do it?" and "did you cry?" Soooo, I thought it would be neat to tell the story on our website. Here goes...
 
February 13, 2010 changed my life forever. It was on this day that the man of my dreams asked me to marry him! I had no clue whatsoever that it was gonna happen. We actually had a double date with my friend Keisha and her boyfriend. We planned to do dinner and a movie just to get out. Kendrick was acting kind of suspect the whole evening….leaving us for a few minutes and coming back. Little did I know, he was coordinating his proposal with the restaurant’s manager. We went out to eat at Copeland’s Restaurant...one of our favorite places! We were about half way into our meal when Kendrick grabbed my arm saying that he wanted to show me something. As reluctant as I was to leave the delicious chicken wings on my plate, I obediently followed. My heart started beating fast because I thought he was about to do something crazy! He led me into the MIDDLE of the restaurant and told me to sit down at this empty table. At the top of his lungs, he screams out: “excuse me, if I can interrupt you all for a moment. I know that you all are enjoying your meal but I just need a moment of your time. My name is Kendrick and I’m from Fort Worth but my heart is from New Orleans and her name is Shantel. After he got the restaurant’s FULL attention, he turned to me sitting nervously in my chair with my hand covering my mouth. He says, “Shantel, baby I love you. Will you marry me?”. So many emotions ran through me at that moment….happy, stunned, surprised, happy! I gladly said yes!!! I was gazing at my engagement ring in a state of euphoria for the rest of the evening. I don’t even remember what movie we went to see!
 
The Wedding:
Our wedding theme can be described in two words, Southern Elegance.  Our wedding colors are coral, sagemint green, and ivory.  Overall the style/attire will be semi-formal.  Our sassy bridesmaid divas will be wearing elegant chiffon dresses while our GQ styled groomsmen will be in tuxedos.
