Let's Talk Flowers! Bouquet Styles

Your bridal bouquet is an accessory just like any other part of your bridal attire. It should complement the style of your wedding dress and color scheme. The type of bouquet you get can also be determined by the type of wedding you are having, for example, a formal affair versus a beach wedding.

Let's explore the types of bridal bouquets.

Hand-tied bouquet - A bouquet of flowers that are not wired but fastened together with ribbon. Hand-tied bouquets are usually less expensive. The look is usually less formal.

Wired Bouquet - A bouquet where the stems are individually wired into shape.

Teardrop - A tight cascade bouquet in the shape of a teardrop.

Nosegay - An upright bouquet.

Cascade - A bouquet that falls forward in a cascade.

Arm Bouquet - A bouquet that is loosely held on one arm.

Pomander - A tightly constructed bouquet in a three-dimensional shape, such as a round globe or heart that is completely covered in blossoms. Pomanders are usually carried on a rope or ribbon.

The correct way to hold a bouquet is below your navel. Holding the bouquet low makes you look taller and slimmer. A short-waisted bride can elongate her look by carrying a trailing, pear-shaped bouquet.
