Real Engagements {South Carolina}: Kayla & Myron! – Blackbride.com

With a stroke of destiny and the help of a persistent friend, Kayla and Myron's love story began on November 26, 2011. "We first saw each other when Myron came into my store to purchase a new phone that morning. We just stared at each other, but never spoke…until that night," said Kayala. Later that night Kayla and Myron found themselves at the same party. As fate would have it, they actually had a mutual friend. As Kayla walked around looking for her friend, she finds her talking to the stranger she met earlier in the day. " I walked up and just stood there quietly and my friend turns and looks at the both of us and said, 'you two need to exchange phone numbers right now!' She took our phones and exchanged them forcing us to put our numbers in each others phones and then threatened us to go on a date the next day or she would no longer be our friend," recalled Kayla. Although the two didn't have their first date the next day like their friend demanded, they eventually went on a date and hung out and kept in touch.  6 months after their first date the couple decided to make their relationship official. Kayla and Myron are planning a "Vintage Peackock" themed wedding, next month in Summerville, S.C. Check out their chic outdoor engagement session captured by Adrienne Cooper Photography.

Engagement story:

June 3rd, 2014. We were in the process of closing on our first home together after living together for almost a year! So when it was time to do our Home inspection, He met me at the house with his Step-mom. He told me to come outside and his mom starts recording. He told me she was recording to make sure we see what the inspector saw, which was a lie. I smile and yell “yayyyy,” being the silly person that I am. Suddenly, he stops me from walking into the house and says but first I think we should do this as husband and wife. Then he got on one knee right in front of our New House!

From the Groom: Walk us through the behind the scenes of creating this special day:

I've been wanting to do it for a while. I told her family like a month before. The ring took, forever to come in! I'm not big on a lot of attention, so I'm glad it was just us there.

What makes your love special?

We make it ours! We know what works for us. We feel like best friends who have a crush on each other.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

Seeing his Face, hopefully in tears  (laughs).

Congratulations to the happy couple Kayla and Myron! We wish you a wonderful wedding and a happy marriage.
