Renting a gown can be an excellent option for brides that want a couture gown but don’t have the enormous budget it would take to purchase one.  In general, renting a gown is about a third of the cost of purchasing it at the retail price. This discount opens a “high fashion door” to dresses that most brides cannot even consider.  It also gives you the option of sending the dress back after the big day. There is no hassle of trying to sell it or feeling like you wasted money because it’s sitting in a closet collecting dust. Renting is also an excellent option for a bride who is having a destination wedding. It makes traveling a little easier as you have the dress shipped to the wedding site and shipped back after your nuptials.

Although renting a dress can be a great option for budget and practicality, it can cause some difficulties. Often time’s dresses only come in specific sizes and are only allowed minimal alterations if any at all. Some rented dresses also run smaller than the size on the label making it difficult for curvy girls to rent. They also can come with high penalties for damage and considering damage cost while dancing the night away with your hubby can definitely be a mood killer. The rental companies also have specific rules regarding return dates as well as methods of return.
