Hot Blooms: 2015 Floral Trends by Keishas Kreations! – Blackbride.com

There are many options to think about when planning a wedding. However, one of the most important aspects can be the wedding flowers.  Every detail that is incorporated should have a personalized look and feel throughout the entire event. A bride’s color palette and the look and feel of the reception space is where we like to begin.

Focus on elements of your wedding that are really important to you. Be open minded to non-floral and floral centerpieces, variations of centerpieces and overall allow your floral designer to recommend pieces that will fit your savvy style but will accommodate that venue since they experience it regularly.

Before your consultation with your floral designer, you should have everything in order and be prepared. As you think of questions that you may have, jot them down on a piece of paper and take them with you to the consultation. This may be the only time that you actually meet with this person face to face, so you should be well armed with a firm idea of what you do and don’t want for your floral arrangements.

If you want your look at feel of your ceremony and reception to have a polished, magazine ready look there are certain blooms that are really trendy for 2015 such as garden roses, peonies, dutch tulips, phaleonopsis orchids and dahalias. Wedding flower trends for 2015 will be bold, contemporary and extreme with variations of colors that have not been done before.

Today’s hottest floral trends, include monochromatic shades and repeating arrangements in variations of heights, size of containers and mixing containers.

For example, some of these styles include combining long tables together for family seating and creating long lush, pauve, candlelit tablescapes that create an abundance look without breaking the bank.

One way I instruct clients on creating an over the top floral centerpiece is to avoid using cheaper filler flowers such as carnations, greenery and wildflowers instead choose romantic blooms like hydrangeas, hyacinths, sweet peas, garden roses, tulips and orchids in creamy pastel colors that will give you a big flower budget. We love the look of choosing mixed flowers that look like you picked it up from garden.

Here are two examples of color palette that I love for the new trends:

Make an appointment to meet with a florist, or schedule several to compare. Usually 6 month or more before your wedding date is an appropriate time. The design process includes several meetings: Initial Consultation, Design Detailed Meeting, Mock-up and Final consultation.

It is important to bring along as much information as you can to your initial consultation. We request swatches of material and fabric being used for bridal party attire. Swatches are always helpful in determining color and direction of how the overall wedding is going to look.   Explaining to your floral designer “dusty rose” is a color is meaningless because manufactures have thousands of trade names that describe colors. When meeting with a designer give them room to manipulate your colors and achieve the most costly and effective way to combine different colors to come up with the most fabulous look and feel for the space. Keep in mind that flowers are seasonal and most experienced designer know what is available, from what parts of the world and the most important what cost what when. As a designer we always have the best interest of our client because it is also a reflection of our creative abilities and overall style of our company. A comprehensive quote will be emailed to the client within a 48 hours of our initial meeting.
