Ashley and Corey met in 2007 while attending Clayton State University. "We shared many common friends and developed our own great friendship that developed into something special," said Ashley. The couple who has been together since 2011, celebrated their union this past Spring with a "Tropical Paradise" themed wedding at the Glendalough Manor in Tyrone, GA. Check out their special day captured by wedding photographer Taun Henderson.

Engagement story :
My husband told me near the end of 2012 to get ready for a special date at the beginning of 2013. We went to the GA Aquarium for the first time where we had a great day. Near the end of the day he surprised me with a private behind the scenes tour of the aquarium. Upon touring the Tropical Fish Exhibit, I opened a giant clamshell that read “Will You Marry Me”?. Corey gently grabbed my hand, dropped to one knee as he pulled out a ring box, and asked me to marry him! Afterwards my parents and brother met us at a restaurant near the aquarium for a celebration.
From the Groom:
It was a day that I will never forget. I really enjoyed seeing Ashley so radiant and happy. I cherished being able to vow before God, family, and friends that I would love, cherish, and obey Ashley now and forever.
The couples best/most memorable moment:
For me “the groom” it was seeing Ashley for the first time as she made her way toward the ceremony with her dad. For me “the bride” it was seeing Corey for the first time, locking eyes with him, and whispering I love you to him.
From the Bride:
It was a very special and joyous day for me because I was marrying my best friend and soul mate. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. It wasn’t about anyone but Corey and I on that day.
What makes your love special?
What makes our love special is that we are truly best friends. Our love blossomed from a friendship that still last to this day.
Favorite wedding detail:
Ashley really loved her bouquet it cascaded down with phalaenopsis orchids, roses & bird of paradise flowers; I loved my groom’s cake made into the helmet of my favorite team, The Oakland Raiders.
Wedding song:
John Legend “All of me” was the song of choice. It is such a beautiful song, and so appropriate. You are truly giving someone your all when you get married.
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
We are expecting our first child very soon. We look forward to family life with our daughter.
Advice for a Bride/Groom on their wedding day:
Bride to Bride Ashley says relax and enjoy the ride. Groom to Groom Corey says make sure you take it all in, the wedding is as much about the Groom as it is your Bride. Be there for her, but enjoy yourself as well.
Congrats to the newlyweds Ashley and Corey!! We wish you many more years of wedded bliss!
