Bride Style: Bridal Shower Fashion with Elaina Shumake! – Blackbride.com

As a bride with less than 30 days until my big day, the time I got to spend with my family and friends at my Bridal Shower was necessary and unbelievably touching! This was the first time my fiancé William's Mother, Sister and Grandmother got to meet the ladies in my family and I was so excited to see them bond and laugh over bridal shower games and tasty treats. My family went all out to make this day so special for me, and I actually cried for the first time during this whole wedding process. I was so touched by the expressions of love and support from my family and friends, that I just couldn't keep it in any longer.  As I prepared to go to Louisville, KY, for my bridal shower, I couldn't decide whether I wanted to wear white or color? I honestly thought about wearing navy as my fiancé is wearing a navy tuxedo to our wedding. But then my mother made the decision for me, and white would be the color of the day. This meant finding a white dress in August which wasn't any easy task. I searched around and as I was talking with a co-worker she told me she had the perfect dress that she bought and couldn't wear. She brought the dress in to work the next day and I instantly fell in love with this Milly dress! I put it on and knew this was the perfect dress to wear to my bridal shower. I thanked her for selling me the dress, and she was excited to get some money for the dress she would never wear.

This look was exactly what I was going for, chic yet playful! I wanted to look effortlessly put together on my day and wear a dress that wasn't too fussy! I paired my dress with a stunning pair of earrings from my Aunt's boutique, simple black suede pumps and bracelets from my collection which pulled the look together!

As you shop for your bridal shower, or any wedding event, always remember that YOU make the look come to life. No matter what you wear, when you feel great about yourself you will always shine. Thank you to Black Bride for allowing me to share my journey with their readers over the summer and I am excited to join their team as a freelance fashion writer. Happy Hunting!!
