Make sure the theme of the shoot tells something about your love. Whether you incorporate your favorite colors, wedding colors or even wear the colors of your favorite football team. Personalized shoots always come out better. It is also great when the setting for the shoot can be special to you. For example the college where you met, the restaurant where you had your first date or the park where he popped the question.

When picking your outfits make sure the fit is perfection. Every little lump and bump comes through in photos. Since engagement shoot photos are often used for save the dates and even invitations you want them to be amazing. Ladies, make sure you have on the proper undergarments to make everything smooth and fellas now is not the time to try and fit in your highschool football jersey! Also, discuss with your photographer the best colors to wear in the lighting you will be in. You want to make sure your outfits pop off the picture and do not blend in with the background.

Since engagment shoots are meant to show a little peek into the world of the couple. I recommend doing two looks. One that is casual and fun and one that is stylish and sophistacated. This helps show both sides of the relationshiop the more fun and flirty side as well as the more serious and sensual side.
