Real Weddings {Mississippi}: Ebony & Jerrid! – Blackbride.com

Ebony and Jerrid met in the Spring of 2005 at Jackson State University. Ebony admits that Jerrid had caught her eye. "I had been watching him for a while and there was just something mysterious about him, " said Ebony.  Ebony decided to take matters into her own hands and told an acquaintance of Jerrid's to tell him that she said "hello."  The next day Jerrid saw Ebony and they spoke about the message she had sent with this friend the day before. After exchanging a few laughs Jerrid asked Ebony for her number. However,  she declined because she was in a relationship at the time. Afterwards, the two would see each other on campus from time to time. It wasn't until the winter of 2005 that they finally began talking consistently and decided to officially date each other.  Check out their romantic nuptials at The Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum , in Jackson, MS, captured by Carlyn Photography !

Engagement story :

It was New Year’s Day, I was sitting on the sofa in the living room watching television waiting on Jerrid to finish getting dressed. We were having a New Year’s Day dinner at my aunt’s house. He walked into the living room smiling. He asked, “Baby are you ready to become my wife?” I looked up at him like, ummm, we have been dating for 8 years. What do you think? We both laughed. So then he asked, “Baby are you ready to get married?” I said, “Of course I am ready to become your wife.” He smiled and handed me a box that was in his hand and said, “I’m ready for you to become my wife too.” I guess that was his way of asking me if I will marry him (lol). Of course I said YES!!

From the Bride:
My wedding day was everything I’ve ever dreamed of and more. I was able to relax and enjoy every moment. The smile on Jerrid’s face, as I walked down the aisle, reassured me that I was making one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life.

From the Groom:

I was very relaxed on our wedding day. I couldn’t wait to see my wife, and our daughter witness her parent’s become as one.

Most memorable moment:

Our most memorable moment was our first dance as husband and wife. It seemed as if we were the only ones in the room. It was a moment we will never forget.

Wedding song:

“The Wedding Song” by Just Patrick. I feel that this song was written just for us.

What makes your love special?

Our biggest fear is losing each other. We have found in one another, someone who wouldn’t mind waking up in the morning, seeing your wrinkles and your gray hair but still fall in love with you all over again.

Congratulations to newlyweds Ebony and Jerrid! We wish you many more years of wedded bliss !
