Real Engagements {Alabama}: Ashley and Chris!

Ashley and Christopher first met at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2009. Ashley's friend Keri invited her out to an event hosted by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Keri introduced Ashley to several of her friends, including Christopher. The two engaged in small talk and she told him that she was new to Birmingham, and getting used to the city. Christopher then pulled out a business card with his cell phone number on the back. He told her to call him anytime if she wanted to do lunch or explore the city. However, Ashley could not accept Christopher's offer because she was in a long-distance relationship at the time. However, as fate would have it Ashley would see Christopher again, and this time she would accept his offer. The following year Christopher asked Ashley out on their first date. "We talked for hours about anything and everything, and eventually moved our lunch date to Homewood Park which was next door to the restaurant. I had to admit, that was the most fun I had in a long time," recalls Ashley. That first date led to many others, and four years later the two college co-eds will unite as one at the Eglin Airforce Base in Florida.
