Yasmin spotted her future husband, James, while sitting in a Trust & Estates class listening to a lecture in September 2008 at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. However, it wasn’t until the following month, at a networking mixer, that James finally introduced himself. Even though the two shared a very brief conversation, Yasmin knew then and there that James was going to be hers. She was right, James could not get enough of Yasmin and four years later on September 21, 2012, she said “YES!” to a lifetime courtship! Check out this awesome engagement shoot captured by Brenda Sison Photography.

“On September 21, 2012, James called me with this story about how work had been stressful and that he needed to get away. I fell for it. He suggested that we take a random trip to Houston, which I agreed to immediately. On the car drive to Houston, James played as if he was making spontaneous hotel reservations, and he acted as if he was on the phone with the Hotel Derek. I was excited that we were able to return to the place where we renewed our relationship. However, I had no clue what was in store for me. When we walked into the room, I was shocked to see rose petals, candles, and chocolate covered strawberries around the room, but I still had no clue that he was about to propose. By the time I finished examining the room and saying how beautiful the gesture was, I turned around to find James on one knee. I couldn’t believe it! He asked me to marry him, and I said yes!”
